Common Areas of Treatment Focus:

Healing from Childhood Wounds:

Our early life experiences shape how we see ourselves, relate to others, and understand God. When we experience early childhood traumas it can leave deep wounds that often carry into adulthood, impacting our relationships, self-worth, and spiritual life. Together, we’ll explore early life experiences that may still be impacting you today—working through attachment wounds, emotional neglect, or past trauma with compassion and care. I draw from trauma-informed approaches, spiritual guided imagery exercises and inner child work to support deep healing.

Anxiety and depression can feel overwhelming—impacting your thoughts, relationships, daily functioning, and even your connection with God. I walk alongside clients in these difficult seasons with a blend of clinical tools and spiritual support, grounded in the belief that healing is possible and that God remains present even in the darkest valleys. Whether you're feeling anxious, exhausted, hopeless, or spiritually numb, I offer a space where you can speak honestly and be met with compassion—not shame.  We’ll work together to explore underlying causes—whether they stem from trauma, chronic stress, past wounds, or spiritual struggles—and begin gently addressing them.  Through evidence-based approaches like CBT, Somatic techniques, mindfulness, and grounding techniques, you'll learn practical ways to reduce overwhelm, regulate emotions, and care for your emotional health.

Anxiety and Depression:

Relationship Distress:

Relationships are central to our emotional and spiritual lives. When they are marked by conflict, disconnection, or pain, it can deeply affect our sense of peace, identity, and faith. From communication struggles to codependency or relational trauma, I help clients understand patterns in their relationships and build healthier connections—with partners, family, or friends. Counseling offers space to untangle emotions, unhealthy patterns, and unmet needs.  We'll work together to understand recurring cycles of conflict, improve emotional regulation, and learn healthy, respectful ways to express needs and boundaries.  Relationship challenges, while painful, can also offer us the opportunity to grow in holiness, humility, and deeper dependence on the Lord. When approached with grace and intention, even the most difficult relationships can become places of spiritual refinement and personal transformation.

Grief and Loss:

Grief is a sacred and deeply personal journey that can often be overwhelming and isolating. I approach grief with reverence, compassion, and hope—recognizing both the emotional pain of loss and the spiritual questions it often raises. Whether you are grieving the death of a loved one, a miscarriage, infertility, a loss of health or vocation, or a season of spiritual desolation, your sorrow is valid and deserves gentle care. It can be common for those in a season of deep grief to experience spiritual doubts, confusion, or even a sense of distance from God—and many feel a sense of shame for having these struggles.  Counseling offers space to wrestle with these questions while holding onto the hope and mystery of God’s presence. I create space to help you honestly explore your emotions—sadness, anger, confusion, guilt—without judgment.  As it is helpful to the client, we can incorporate prayer, Scripture, the lives of the saints, and Catholic teachings on suffering, eternal life, and redemptive hope as meaningful sources of comfort, guidance, and healing.

Life Transitions:

Major life changes—whether planned or unexpected—can create a deep sense of imbalance and emotional overwhelm. These transitions can also stir up old wounds or trauma responses, making it difficult to trust God, others, or even your own decision-making. Sifting through the anxiety and unexpected challenges that often come with change is a vital part of embracing a new chapter. I help clients navigate transitions such as career shifts, relocation, marriage, or parenthood with steady support, compassion, and practical tools.

Self-Esteem:

Our sense of self is deeply tied to how we understand our identity, worth, and purpose. For many, low self-esteem can stem from painful past experiences—childhood wounds, shame, rejection, or negative self-talk that has taken root over time. I approach self-esteem struggles through both a clinical and spiritual lens, helping clients rediscover their dignity as beloved sons and daughters of God.

In our work together, we’ll gently explore the roots of your self-perception and begin challenging the false beliefs that have kept you stuck in cycles of self-doubt, comparison, or perfectionism. I’ll walk alongside you with compassion, offering practical tools to build self-worth, set healthy boundaries, and develop a more loving and truthful relationship with yourself.

Through the lens of Catholic teaching, we’ll reflect on the truth that your worth is not earned—it is inherent, given by God, and never diminished by your struggles. My hope is to help you grow in confidence, reclaim your identity in Christ, and live with greater freedom, peace, and joy.
